Coffee served on a tray never tastes quite the same. The gesture matters: the cup, the square of chocolate and the spoon gathered on warm brown wood, rather than scattered across the counter.
Small, and on purpose
Twenty centimetres by ten: room for a cup and whatever goes with it. A rim runs all the way around and keeps the sugar, the spoon or the petits fours in place when you carry it.
What it holds
An espresso and its chocolate, two small cups, the condiments for a dish, olives at aperitif time. On a bedside table or a console, it also takes a watch, rings and keys.
Heat-treated ash
Heated to a high temperature under steam, the ash takes on this brown colour right through and becomes more stable against moisture, an advantage for a tray that lives alongside cups and glasses. It is engraved Le Beau Marius and made in Poland. You will also find it in the Le Petit Matin, Le Comptoir and L'Heure de l'Apéritif gift sets.

Care
A damp sponge, then a dry tea towel straight away: never the dishwasher, never soaking. Keep it away from hobs and direct sunlight. Once or twice a year, a wood-care oil brings back its depth.
